Stem Cell Treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis
Intravenous, and sometimes intra-joint, injections decrease symptoms in most but not all patients. Inflammatory arthritides also include polymyalgia rheumatic, lupus arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, Crohn’s arthritis, and others. Results are better if medications can be stopped prior to treatment. In some patients we use the patient’s own stem cells in combination with immunotherapy, in some allogeneic umbilical cord cells are more appropriate.
