All stem cells we use are adult mesenchymal stem cells. These are NOT fetal or embryonic stem cells. They may be derived from multiple sites. They are not rejected by the recipient. They work by enhancing healing of damaged tissue, by decreasing inflammation, and by modulating the immune system. The types of stem cells are listed below.

CULTURED UMBILICAL CORD ADULT MESENCHYMAL STEM CELLS: Umbilical cords from term cesarean section births are donated. The cells are tested and cultured at Vitro BioPharma in Golden Colorado: an FDA registered and ISO 9001 and 13485 certified world leading tissue bank. These cells are then purchased by the PSCI for injection into our patients.

CULTURED AUTOLOGOUS ADIPOSE TISSUE: These are cells that are removed by a small lipo-aspiration from the patient to be treated and sent to a tissue bank for culture. They are injected into the patient as a separate procedure 6 weeks or more later.

EXOSOMES: "From Vitro BioPharma", in selected patients, exosomes (a non cellular treatment) is also offered.
